I haven't flown since December, so although I was hesitant because of all the Fly it Forward work ahead of me, I was happy to fly to a $100 Hamburger with Bob.  We wanted something quick and close, and Emma's Restaurant at KCBE, was just 64nm away.  The wind was dying down and there was just light turbulence over the mountains.  Our flight was into the sun and it was beautiful to see it set.

Hey all!  Sorry my blog has not been full of my weekly updates or fun flight PIREPs.  Something called "life" has taken over and while great things are happening, flying has been put on the back burner for a bit unfortunately.  However, we will not allow this to last long so thank you to my readers who keep checking back to see what is new.  I will have some content for you in the coming weeks.

Everyone was out flying this afternoon, our on board traffic proved it!  There was not a cloud in the sky and the air felt fresh and crisp.  Also fresh and crisp were our locally grown apples, a perfect snack for a quick flight up to visit Bob's parents.

Well, my aviation medical certificate is about to expire!  Time to hop over to the retinal specialist once again to have a plethora of forms filled out before I can head over to the AME.  Yesterday I had a visual field test, which tests how well your peripheral vision is.  I feel like I did ok, yet my visits to the specialist always make me nervous and worried that I will hear bad news again.

A year ago yesterday the doctor told me I had a retinal detachment. A year ago he told me I wouldn't be able to get my aviation medical. Today I tell him that it doesn't matter. Today I tell him that I did. Never underestimate the power of one's dreams.
